Home-raised, ethical breeding, and all four Abyssinian colours in one place
If you’ve been searching for Abyssinian kittens in Cape Town, you’ve probably realised something quickly:
They’re surprisingly hard to find.
There are plenty of classifieds and “available now” ads online. Beware of all the scams out there! Finding kittens that are properly socialised, home-raised, and bred with intention is a different story. It can be normal to wait 1-2 years to get an Abyssinian kitten in South Africa, so it is best to plan far in advance!
Why Abyssinians are different (in the best way)
Abyssinians aren’t typical cats.
They don’t hide under beds or sleep all day. They follow you. They help you. They supervise everything.
Make coffee → they’re on the counter.
Work at your desk → they’re on your chair.
Walk outside → they come with you.
They’re incredibly:
intelligent
affectionate
playful
people-focused
Many of our families say the same thing:“This doesn’t feel like a cat, it feels like a little person.”
How our kittens are raised
This part matters more than most people realise.
Temperament isn’t just generics, it's environment. Nature and nurture!
A kitten raised in a cage will behave very differently to one raised inside a calm, loving home.
Our kittens grow up:
inside the house, never cages
handled daily from birth
around normal household life
gently socialised with people
in a quiet, low-stress environment
in small, carefully planned litters
We keep numbers low on purpose. Quality always beats quantity.
The only Abyssinian breeder in Cape Town offering all four colours
One thing that makes our Abyssinian cattery a little unique:
We are currently the only Abyssinian breeder in Cape Town — and South Africa — that works with all four recognised Abyssinian colours.
That means families don’t have to wait years or search internationally for specific colours.
Our programme includes:
Ruddy – the classic wild look
Sorrel – warm cinnamon/red tones
Blue – soft slate grey (very popular)
Fawn – rare, pale champagne colouring
Most breeders focus on only one or two colours. We’ve intentionally built diverse lines so families have more choice.
Recently we even welcomed a full all-blue litter, which is quite rare and something we felt very lucky to experience.
Choosing the right breeder (not just the closest one)
When people Google: “Abyssinian kittens for sale Cape Town” they often choose based on price or convenience.
Look for someone who:
raises kittens in their home
breeds small numbers
prioritises health and behaviour
asks you questions too
genuinely cares where their kittens go
Availability & waiting list
Because our litters are small and home-raised, we rarely have kittens immediately available.
Most families:
Join the waiting list
Share colour and personality preferences
Get updates when litters arrive
Match thoughtfully
It’s a slower process, but it leads to happier homes and calmer cats.
And it’s worth the wait.
If you would like to know more about future litters, you're welcome to email us or DM us on instagram.
